More Sombra Info May Come in the Next Overwatch Patch

We may now be one step closer to the unveiling of Overwatch's supposed next hero, Sombra.

For those unfamiliar with the current progress on the ARG surrounding the mysterious hacker character, the Game Detectives Wiki has an excellent breakdown of the events thus far. But for those with a shorter attention span (such as myself), here is an greatly abbreviated version: Blizzard has been dropping hints about a mysterious Overwatch character named Sombra for a while now. Reaper mentions her in one of his voice lines and Blizzard has left clues about her that include streams of base64 text in Tracer's Blink trail in a trailer, hiding a QR code in a developer update, etc. These trails eventually led to amomentincrime.com, a website which, until today, featured only the following text...

"...Estableciendo conexión...
...Protocolo Sombra v1.9 iniciado...

...Transmitiendo información a ómnicos activos... 42%

...Terminando conexión..."

...with the percentage gradually increasing over time. In case you didn't take Spanish in high school, that translates to

"...Establishing connection...
...Sombra Protocol v1.9 initiated...

...Transmitting information to active omnics... 42%

...Ending connection..."

The source code of the website (seen by right clicking and selecting "view page source" on most systems) also had a few comments added every now and then, but let's not worry about those for now. What we should worry about, however, is that on October 18th the progress hit 100% and the website updated to now display

"...Estableciendo conexión...
...Protocolo Sombra v1.95 iniciado...

...Transmisión finalizada - finalizando carga...
...Carga finalizada. Unidad Bastion E-54 comprometida...

...Terminando conexión.."

Which of course means:

"...Establishing connection...
...Sombra Protocol v1.9 initiated...

...Transmission complete - finishing upload...
...Upload finished. Unit Bastion E-54 engaged...

...Ending connection..."

which is especially noteworthy because the Bastion unit playable in Overwatch is, indeed, E-54.

Additionally, viewing the source code for the newest webpage also reveals a comment before the end connection message saying "", which could potentially be the next Overwatch patch, as the current PC version is v1.4.0.2.32374. Overwatch's last update took place on October 11 and added numerous skins and a new game mode along with the usual tweaks and bug fixes, but there is no word on when the next update will be implemented. For now it appears that a visible progress bar has simply been replaced by an invisible one.
