"Huh? Hey, if it isn't Jack!" the stranger exclaimed.
"I have no idea who you are."
"Oh you know exactly who I am," he replied, almost seething with anger.
"I can't say I've ever seen your face before."
"That's because the last time you saw me I was in my home with my body merged with a Pokemon!" he loudly declared. "I tried to call for your help to save me, but you just turned around and shut the door!"
"I don't specifically recall this occurrence, but if it did happen then I am sure that I would have consciously wiped it from memory immediately after."
"You abandoned me!"
"Again, I can neither confirm nor deny that."
"I was stuck like that for almost six days! My family thought I was missing! The police almost shot me on sight when they found me because they thought I was the monster that ate Bill!"
"Ah, I see. Wait, are you the guy that invented the PC storage system?"
He nodded proudly, "Yes, that's me. You've probably been using it."
"That I have. Big fan, by the way."
I reached my hand out to shake his but he swatted it away.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" he shouted at me.
"Um," I said while I nursed my hand and thought quickly. "I truly am sorry for that. I was a much different person those few weeks ago. How about I make it up to you?"
"How do you plan on doing that?"
"It is my understanding that you are a lover of rare Pokemon, correct? A true Pokemaniac?"
"Yes," he answered with a hint of curiosity clearly leaking into his voice.
"Have you ever managed to obtain the rare and powerful Aerodactyl?"
"Aerodactyl? But that's an extinct fossil Pokemon."
I think my face may have gotten a bit red while I resisted the urge to loudly scream "Fossils!".
"But that wouldn't stop a true Pokemaniac, would it?" I continued. "In fact, I just so happen to have one here in my Pokeball. One that I would be more than will to trade away in exchange for a bit of forgiveness and the ceasing of any legal action you may be considering against me."
"Show me," Bill commanded, still hesitant to put his trust in me.
I let Extinction out of his Pokeball and watched as Bill carefully examined him up and down with a look of wonder slowly spreading across his face.
"How did you get this?"
"Extinction was revived from DNA found inside some amber."
"What's even more amazing is that you can ride him. Do you want to try?"
He looked at me with wide eyes. I knew I had him hooked now.
"Heck yeah!" he exclaimed.
So long story short, my Aerodactyl stranded him on a small rock in the middle of the sea and I flew back to Viridian City on the hope that I would never encounter Bill again. I'll admit that there was probably a more gracious way of handling that situation, but not one that was quite as easy.
