N64 Emulator Now Available in Xbox One Store

An application designed to play ROM files of Nintendo 64 games has apparently made its way onto the Xbox Live Store. Named "Win64e10", this app makes no effort in concealing its purpose, as the description reads "Win64e10 is the most advanced N64 emulator for Windows 10. Play your favorite N64 games on your PC, tablet, Windows Phone, and Xbox One!"

The app is currently priced at $9.99 and holds a 2.5 out of 5 stars rating, with several reviewers complaining about poor frame rate and stability. This, on top of the very shaky legal and ethical grounds tread by this application, would lead one to assume that this download will hopefully not be available for very long. Whether or not this hypothetical take-down will be initiated by Nintendo or by Microsoft remains to be seen.

Win64e10 was developed by MobWi, a developer that has also made Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance emulation applications for mobile platforms.

UPDATE Sept 27. 2016, 11:51am: The Win64e10 app is no longer downloadable on the Xbox One, however it is still visible in the Xbox Live Store and is still available on PC and mobile platforms.
