Mii Plaza Gets Streamlining, New Games

On Thursday’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo of America Inc.’s JC Rodrigo announced some new features coming to the 3DS system’s Mii Plaza meant to remove some of the inconveniences associated with the Mii Plaza.
The 3DS application will soon be adding a “Quick Plaza”, bringing some much-needed streamlining to the app. The Quick Gate will apparently have simplified greeting messages from visiting Mii characters and the Mii Plaza’s games will have faster startup times. In addition to these changes, it will soon be possible for players to encounter up to 100 Mii characters via Streetpass rather than the current 10.

Additionally, the Mii Plaza will be getting five new games:
-Slot Car Rivals: a free* racing game.
-Market Crashers: a free* game that challenges you to predict stock prices based on the advice of visiting Mii characters.
-Feed Mii: a cooking game.
-Mii Trek: a game in which your Mii goes on adventures using the step count of players encountered via Streetpass.
-Ninja Launcher: a game in which you “blast yourself from a cannon to defeat demons”. I have a sneaking suspicion that this one will not be entirely historically accurate.

Speeding up the process of welcoming new Mii’s into one’s Mii Plaza is certainly a welcome addition. Both the Mii Plaza update and quintet of new games are available as of the writing of this article. You can view the September 1, 2016 Nintendo Direct in its entirety here

*Players can download either Slot Car Rivals or Market Crashers for free. Doing so will allow the player to then purchase the remaining four games at a discounted bundle price.
